Aeroponics Vertical Farming
Aeroponics Vertical Farming
Aeroponics is a soilless plant cultivation system in which plant roots are intermittently misted with a nutrient solution in open or inside a closed or semi-closed chamber.
How Aeroponics Works
- Plants are placed in holes on top of a chamber so that roots hang freely inside.
- No soil or water bed is used — only air and mist.
- A nutrient solution is sprayed directly onto the roots.
- The roots absorb nutrients and oxygen efficiently, promoting rapid and healthy growth.
- The unused water solution is collected and recirculated to save resources.
Benefits of Aeroponics
- Uses 95–98% less water than soil farming.
- Faster plant growth due to high oxygen and nutrient availability.
- No soil required — eliminates weeds and soil-borne diseases.
- Year-round cultivation possible under controlled conditions.
- Space-efficient — suitable for vertical and urban farming.
- Higher yield and better quality produce.
- Eco-friendly — no soil erosion or fertilizer runoff.
- Ideal for research and space farming (used by NASA).
- Cleaner and pesticide-free crops.
- Reduced labor and maintenance compared to traditional farming.
